Research

My research focuses on the seasonal dynamics of aquatic food webs, mainly through the lens of fish behavioural ecology. I’m interested in combining acoustic telemetry with stable isotopes to investigate how food web dynamics are driven by movement ecology. My project studies the effect of winter duration on the overwintering behaviour of smallmouth bass in Algonquin Park, Ontario. This project will be used to inform how the invasion of smallmouth bass in northern latitudes may be exacerbated with climate change.
